About

I’m Giana Amantea, an oil painter and mixed media sculptor inspired by the way different creative practices intersect. My work is driven by a fascination with absurdity and the surreal moments that exist within everyday life. Through painting, sculpture, and wearable art, I create playful, immersive worlds that blur the line between reality and imagination.

I began my academic studies in studio art, but when the pandemic limited access to shared studio spaces, I shifted my focus and earned a degree in art history. I have had the opportunity to intern at the Museum of Architecture in London and at the Museum of Modern Art in New York within the Archives, Library, and Research Collections department. These experiences deepened my interest in documentation, and I am especially drawn to ephemeral materials and the archival traces of artistic movements and individuals. I also carry that sensibility into my own practice by actively documenting my work and process.

My work as a muralist can be seen at the Art Supply Warehouse in Westminster, CA, as well as on the landscaping building at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles, CA.

I am currently based in the Greater Los Angeles area and am available for painting and sculpture commissions.
